About EPDM Play Area Surfaces

Playground safety is a critical engineering requirement, demanding certified impact-attenuating flooring to protect children from fall injuries.

Elite International Sports specialize in designing and installing EN 1177 certified wet pour EPDM rubber safety flooring systems. Unlike traditional hard tiles or loose sand/wood chips, our wet pour rubber flooring is a seamless, double-layered elastic matrix mixed with high-durability polyurethane binders.

The structural layout consists of a thick, shock-absorbing base layer made from recycled SBR rubber buffings, which acts as the main cushion cushion. On top of this, we apply a colorful 10mm to 15mm wear layer of virgin EPDM rubber granules. The thickness of the SBR cushion layer is calculated based on the maximum height of the playground equipment, ensuring compliance with the Critical Fall Height (CFH) safety limits. Our flooring materials are completely non-toxic, eco-friendly, and porous, allowing rainwater to drain quickly and keeping the play area dry and slip-free.
